The Cubs Go Back To The Future
The year 2015 has brought many surprises. We have seen so much already. For example, we have seen The Ohio State Buckeyes win the first ever college football playoffs, a single man carry the city of Cleveland on his back throughout the NBA finals, and have become witness to all fifty states accepting same sex marriage, and we have all had the pleasure of watching Mr.Trump enter politics.
However, let us venture back to the sports side of things. No, we are not talking about how the NBA finals turned out, nor are we discussing the revamped college football season, and no, not even the deflate gate. Instead, we look at the baseball season as a whole.
What a baseball season we have had: a hometown kid won the Home run derby and A-Rod, (not A-roid) made his return. However, we are going to narrow the story to one baseball team in particular, the Chicago Cubs. No not the White Sox, the Cubs.
The Cubs have had a historic season as the regular season came to a close. Their record stood at 97-65 and they made the playoffs for the first time since 2008. They have advanced to the NLCS for the first time since 2003. For the sake of Cub fans (and Steve Bartman), everywhere, the details of how the 2003 season ended won’t be discussed.
This is about the Cubs of new and not the Cubs of old and the 2015 Cubs are on a roll and back at it in the NLCS. Many may know, of the 107 year World Series championship drought. Although, this season may have been predicted as the year they will break the drought. The source of the prediction, the still great movie Back To The Future which has already predicted things such as the hoverboard and the return of a baseball team to Miami. Although it’s improbable that they will do it, it's not impossible.
As BTTF’s Marty McFly says, “Man, Doc ,this is heavy”. (Marty Mcfly) That is if the Cubs were able to pull it off.You could wonder if Biff bet on the game or not.
