Donald Trump's Viewpoints
Donald Trump, a well-known business man and co-producer of “The Apprentice,” took America by surprise when he announced his participation in the 2016 Presidential Race.
Trump has recently been a top contributor in Republican politics, supporting Conservative positions. In the National Republican Primary, Trump has 40.8% of the vote. Since the beginning of the Presidential Race, Trump has gained a lot of support. Trump advocates for veteran administration reforms, second amendment rights, and immigration reform.
Veterans
Trump is a loyal supporter of our veterans so much that in 1995, when only 100 people spectated New York City’s Veteran Day Parade, he financed a Nation’s Day Parade to give the veterans the honor he believed they deserved.
Veteran Administration is an issue Trump particularly considers to be a systematic problem. Currently, veterans struggle to receive proper health care and other benefits. According to Trump, the Veterans Affairs lacks the leadership and the management it needs to successfully address our veterans needs. If Trump wins the election, he has an articulate plan on how he is going to improve the VA system. Trump plans to guarantee that veterans receive the care they need and whenever they need it and provide all the support veterans need mentally, physically, and emotionally. He proposes to rid the VA of executives that are not able to meet the needs of the veterans.
Second Amendment Right
Over the past few years, gun violence has increasingly become a problem in the United States. Gun violence has become such a prevalent issue that our Second Amendment is being threatened. The right to keep and bear Arms is an amendment in the Constitution that ensures the government cannot take it away.
If Trump wins the presidential election, he hopes to guarantee America’s right to bear arms. He plans to achieve this by enforcing stricter laws on criminals. He wants to bring back the Project Exile which ensured that if a felon uses a gun to commit a crime they receive a five year sentence without parole or early release. By doing this, it might keep more criminals off the streets. Trump hopes to fix our mental institutions so that when a red flag appears it is properly dealt with. This will all could be put into place to protect America’s gun owners. He believes citizens should be able to bear Arms after following proper protocol. This would mean updated routine background checks on people purchasing weapons. He also proposes the right to conceal carry, so people can have protection everywhere they go. This also accounts for the military personnel who need to carry firearms on bases and recruiting centers. Trump claims that in order for Americans to feel safe they should have the right to bear Arms.
Immigration Reform
One of the most controversial topics is immigration. Whether we should open our doors to other countries or leave them out. Our country has always had a problem of people entering the country illegally and this takes a drastic effect on American citizens.
If Trump becomes president, he plans to change the immigration system completely. Trump’s idea of immigration reform are “A nation without borders is not a nation,” “A nation without laws is not a nation,” and “ A nation that does not serve its own citizens is not a nation.”
Trump hopes to build a wall across the southern border that he would make Mexico pay for. Since people have been entering this United States illegally for years, he believes that they should take responsibility for this. In order to do this, he plans to triple the number of ICE officers. He believes that are not enough officers enforcing immigration laws. If someone enters the country illegally, he plans to send them back to their country without a second thought. He wants to create stricter penalties if someone overstays their visa and end birthright citizenship. He trusts that this will improve America and put American workers first. This might allow Americans to receive jobs first and increase wages for Americans. He hopes to use the money from expensive refugee programs to help inner city youth and children without homes. Immigration is one of Trump’s most talked about positions and one he is going to continue to push for.
