Carson Viewpoints

Rags-to-riches, Ben Carson might be the everyday American that the Oval Office needs. Benjamin “Ben” Carson Sr. was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1951. Mr. Carson always had a knack for wanting to help individuals which sparked a passion to become a physician at a young age. After graduating from Yale University, Carson worked as an X-Ray technician, bus driver, highway cleaner director, bank teller, and a crane operator before being accepted into the The University of Michigan School of Medicine.
Following his time at UM, Mr. Carson became a neurological surgeon at John Hopkins. Performing groundbreaking procedures such as his separation of conjoined twins in 1987, and his view on how to control seizures have become proper protocol in hospitals around the globe.
According to USA Today’s most recent polls, Carson sits in fifth place.
Carson has very strong viewpoints on some major topics, such as how to handle ISIS, cyber security, and immigration. Carson has been viewed as a quiet, unaggressive leader who believes that the right way might not be the most violent way. However, Mr. Carson is prepared to take action if needed.
Defeating the Islamic State

Since the early 2000s, Americans have been afraid of a terrorist attack. This fear has increased security. The stop of terrorism would not only benefit the United States, but countries worldwide.
Soft spoken Carson believes firmly that the United States needs a plan to declare war on the Islamic State. Following the September 11th attacks on New York, Pennsylvania, and the Pentagon, the United States has been aware and has wanted to stop terrorism. The United States has lacked one major catalyst, a real plan. Carson will provide a plan to stop ISIS and other terrorist organizations.
Cyber Security

With the internet and cell phones being as prominent form of technology as ever, the idea that foreign hackers or domestic hackers could infiltrate not only government servers, but also personal servers (cell phones, computers, gaming consoles). This proposes a huge problem with national security and puts personal privacy in danger. The people of the United States WANT someone who will give them no doubt that their personal information is protected.
Carson wants to integrate stronger cyber walls, firewalls, and virus protection software that is only available on American servers. This prevents foreign hackers from hacking computers and stealing YOUR information.
Immigration
“We are a nation of immigrants, but we are also a sovereign nation of laws. Our sovereignty demands that we protect our borders and make decisions for ourselves, including whom to welcome onto our soil. Our rule of law requires that we uphold the laws – including immigration laws – that the American people have duly enacted.”

With the new wave of Syrian refugees, Americans are divided whether to allow them to come in or not to let them in. With the broken immigration system that it in place today, the idea that we could accurately divide those who want to become Americans and those who want to cause harm, is practically impossible.
Mr. Carson wants to create a new system to provide more accuracy in who we want in our country. This would add more security in the United States and could possibly expose those who want to cause harm before they cause it. In addition, Carson wants America to remain the dreamland for foreign individuals and want to remain using the immigration laws that the American people have enacted over the years.
