Want to make a difference in this world?

Voting is just the simple task of putting your opinion in for our next president. It's your democratic duty! First to vote, you must register. To register, you must be 18 by election day and also send in your registration thirty days before the election you wish to vote in.

Students have the right to vote in the district their parents’ home is in or the location near themselves. You can search where the closest place to vote are right here, http://voterlookup.sos.state.oh.us/voterlookup.aspx/. To vote you must meet these requirements:

  1. U.S. Citizen

  2. Be an Ohio resident

  3. Not be imprisoned for a felony conviction

  4. Not be declared incompetent to vote by a probate court

  5. Not be permanently disqualified for violating an election law

When you go to vote, you must bring valid identification with you such as:

  1. An unexpired driver's license or a state identification card

  2. Photo Identification that was issued from Ohio, or the United States Government

  3. A copy or an original of a current government document that shows your name and address

  4. Check stating your name and address, also a current bank statement

  5. Current utility bill, and also a government check stating your name and address

Current is within the last 12 months, and a cell phone bill is also counted as a utility bill.

If you don’t have any of the above items, you would use what’s called a Provisional ballot, where all one needs is a driver's license, state identification card or the last 4 digits of your social security card. The ballot will still count as a vote as long as you send it into the Board of Elections to review.

Many ask, why vote?

Vote because every election matters. Your opinion could help the country.
