Tattoos are Mainstream, But They Have Risks

Tattoos are a big thing in the 21st century, but a lot people do not realize what could potentially happen once they get a tattoo. There are so many reactions someone can possibly get once the ink is in their skin.
With the ink, someone’s skin can have so many different kinds of reactions. They could possibly get an infection from cross contamination from other users or tattoo artists. The lack of sanitation could cause a lot of problems.
Before getting a tattoo, someone should make sure they are not allergic to certain colors. The most common colors people are allergic to are red, yellow and blue. So, for preparation for a tattoo it would be better for someone to see if they are allergic to any dyes.
“Any time someone is going to inject something into their body, there are consequences,” says Liza Katz from FDA's office of Cosmetics and Color. Someone has to think of all the consequences that come with a tattoo because a tattoo is a wound.
Since a tattoo is considered a self inflicted wound, someone needs to treat it like a wound, or it can damage and scar their skin permanently; that can cause an abnormal scar if it is not taken care of because there is ink involved.
There are many things that someone will need to avoid so they don't damage their tattoo and cause infections such as bodies of water direct sunlight.
Overall, there are many things that people should know about tattoos and how it affects their health and their body. Even though there are things within this process that can harm you, it can be prevented.
