Ryan Reynolds: a man that has starred in many movies and shows, but does he have one more star performance up his sleeve? Ryan is one of the best actors out there and has starred in many movies including X-Men Origins, The Change Up, and The Croods. Reynolds has been an actor since a 1991 show called Hillside. Reynolds’ career started out slow, but gained some popularity after X-Men Origins where he starred as more of a serious version of Deadpool. Reynolds then starred in the kids cartoon film, The Croods, playing Guy. Before The Croods came out in 2013, Reynolds took a big jump starring in Green Lantern, which came out in 2011. Then his career took an even bigger jump once 2016 star film Deadpool took off with over million dollars.
Deadpool has been around since February of 1991 when he was introduced in a Mutant comic book. The comic is based on main character Deadpool, or Wade Wilson. Deadpool fights crime and saves the day but doesn’t consider himself a superhero more of an anti-hero.
For the past 11 years, Reynolds has played in many movies, but the one movie he always wanted to be a part of was Deadpool. Deadpool was official two years ago when someone leaked test footage of the making of the movie. But once it was leaked many people wanted more. At a Comic Con in 2015, Reynolds and the producers decided to release a small 3-minute clip from the movie that made the fans go crazy. Deadpool was then released on February 12, 2016 and is one of the best movies Ryan Reynolds has starred in.
Reynolds has been in only one other “superhero” movie, Green Lantern. Unlike Deadpool, Green Lantern was hated by many people including Reynolds himself. Green Lantern is probably one of the worst movies Reynolds has starred in. Green Lantern was released on June 17th 2011, this movie earning 53 million dollars on its opening day. Deadpool earned a total of 135 million dollars from opening night. Reynolds' Deadpool superhero movie gained 80 million dollars more than his Green Lantern movie. A gross is a mathematical term for 140. So, for every gross that the movies earned times it by 140 and that's the total amount of money he raised. Deadpool has also got a gross of 362 million dollars during the time it was released. Deadpool came out to be 50,680,000,000. Green Lantern made a gross of 116 million dollars. This came out to be $16,240,000,000.
Rotten Tomatoes is a movies informative site that gives reviews on multiple movies in and out of theaters. Rotten Tomatoes reviewed both Deadpool and Green Lantern and the reviews are completely opposite. Green Lantern got a rating of 26% and 55% of the people that watched the movie didn't like it. Deadpool got a rating of 83% and 8% of the people that watched Deadpool didn't like the film.
This film was liked by many people and was one of the best movies in Reynolds’ career. Reynolds has played in only one other superhero movie, Green Lantern, and not many liked the film. But Deadpool definitely made up for it. Deadpool may be one of the funniest movies ever made and probably the most inappropriate. But it is worth watching and the jokes never stop.
