Don't Doubt Us
During the time that Licking Valley has been around many people have looked to Valley for their football performance. Every year many people look forward to watch Licking Valley on friday nights but for others it's soccer season.
Looking at the past two years Licking Valley hasn't won a game but this could be the year that that all changes. This team has played four games this season and still haven't pulled out a win but the excuse for this isn't the team but the “calls” according to head coach Gabe Hindes. Hindes has been the head coach for the past 2 years but has he improved the team from the last coach this teams had. According to the team,“it’s been a rough time trying to get back in the swing of things for this season since it's been so hard the past few” they said after thursday's game against Johnstown Monroe.
Looking back at the last two seasons, for Licking Valley, it's been a rough ride up to now. Not having won a game in two years really impacts the team and its performance. Also due to the fact that it's been hard trying to adjust to different play styles since the switch of their head coach. But this team has heart in the game of soccer and won't give up until they have a win in this seasons books.
This team is full of young men that love the sport of soccer, and many people enjoy watching them play every week. This team is being doubted for their performance on and off the field by LV’s football team, basketball team, and other sports teams. But this team keeps fighting no matter what their told on and off the field.
Soccer isn't a soft game with pads to protect you, this game is pure skill and toughness. This is a contact sport no matter what people say. Many people a year loss their careers off of this sport. Quote from teammate...
Soccer is a fun game and you can always have fun even if you're not playing the game. Many times during valleys practices their are fun moments. But there are times when they have to get down to business and do some real soccer. Justin Rhymer was a soccer player for Licking valley last year but graduated and is now going into the marines. Justin came back Tuesday August 30th and taught the team some of the military training he had to go through. Making the team perform these tasks was hard because many of them struggled but they never gave up.
For Aaron Lee it was his first overall practice with the team and to him “it sucked” and it wasn't just him that struggled. Many other people did as well but were use to the pressure. This team has a purpose this year and their purpose is to keep trying and never give up.
