Balancing school and sports at the same time?

Balancing school can be very tricky most can do both with no problem. Some athletics struggle with maintaining grades because they have practice right after school and don't get home till late. So they are not worried about doing homework when they get home that's probably the last thing on their mind.

But athletes should be getting their work done on time if they can't handle playing a sport while doing school work they shouldn't be playing sports. Senior Jenna Smith said,“Just do your work on time.’’

Athletic director Mr McCullough said, “I got a lot of my homework done in study hall which meant not sleeping or screwing around with my buddies. Beyond that, if I had practice right after school, I did my homework as soon as I got home after practice. If I had late practice, I did it when I got home from school before I went to practice. You just have to be disciplined enough and care enough to make it important to get your work completed”

Getting organized is key for any athlete with a busy schedule. Most students won't go on to be professionals in their sport. Athletic director Mr McCullough said, “Time management is strictly a discipline issue in my opinion. It comes down to the choice I mentioned above that I made. Do I mess around with my buddies or do I get my work done. Do I hang out with my friends before practice or do I get my work done? Do I play video games and check my Twitter or do I get my work done.’’

Lots of daily practices and games and traveling it can be hard for student to find time for school work.Time management is a skill that needs to be taught. Lots of students probably don't really understand how important it is to get your school work done on time.
