Homestuck

Caveat: This comic does not have a rating, but it does have mature language and violence. Ask your parents before you read it.

Homestuck is a webcomic written by Andrew Hussie. At the beginning, it follows the kids, John Egbert, Dave Strider, Rose Lalonde, and Jade Harley who are often referred to as the beta kids but many more characters have been added later in the webcomic.

Unlike most comics, shows or stories, Homestuck does not have a main character but instead switches from one character's perspective to another's. This is a very long comic, so the plot changes and the being goal is still to some extent the end goal but quite a bit happens along the way.

Everything starts with John’s 13th birthday. He and his friends all will get a copy of Sburb and will start a game session together. Sburb is a computer game but is also able to interact with people or objects in real life. The first game session that the reader is shown is between John, Dave, Rose ,and Jade. The point of the game isn’t very clear for awhile and neither is how to play it but the game will start to cause disasters that if the kids don’t fix it will end earth. There’s a much larger goal to the game later on after multiple game sessions join together.

As a huge fan of Homestuck who has finished this very long comic, I can say that it’s absolutely amazing. It started over 7 years ago and the fandom is still super active. If you're into cosplay and you go to conventions or follow them on social media, you may have seen some cosplayers from this comic. I recommend this to anyone with a lot of free time because of how long this comic is. Overall, Homestuck has something everyone can relate to and find something they love about it.

You can read Homestuck at www.mspaintadventures.com or watch the fisrt five acts and part of the sixth part by going to YouTube and searching “Let’s read Homestuck (ALL OF IT)” and look for “Act 1 Part 1” dubbed by the channel Voxus. Even though the playlist you will find says all of it, they discontinued dubbing it in act six so to continue reading Homestuck you will have to go to MS Paint Adventures site.

In January of 2017, the continuation of Homestuck called Hiveswap will start.
