What do you think of when you hear superhero names? Ironman, Captain America, Star-Lord: all played by iconic actors that can't ever be replaced. Robert Downey Jr. will always be known as Ironman. Chris Evans will always be known as Captain America. Chris Pratt will always be known as Star-Lord. But there are also real life people that do certain professions that are, like these actors, known by a different name. Dwayne Johnson will be known as “The Rock” for the rest of his life. But one of the most iconic actors to ever play the role of a superhero is Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
For the past 17 years, Hugh Jackman has played Wolverine in most of the X-Men movies. But before the release of the new movie Logan, he announced his retirement as the Wolverine.
Until this day, Hugh Jackman has worked tirelessly to put on a good show for his fans and he has successfully done that up to now. Looking at his last appearance as Wolverine before Logan he played in X-Men Days of Future Past. On Rotten Tomatoes, the movie got a really nice rating of 91 both from critics and fans watching.
Hugh Jackman has been in every X-Men movie up to now and it’s sad to see him go. However, with the release of Logan, he has successfully made his mark that he will forever be the best Wolverine. Overall, it is a very good movie, and for Hugh Jackman's last role as Wolverine, he killed it. The story line is what sold it for me. It’s based off of him and his daughter and he has to protect her as he is dieing. In the movies, it was nice to see that he has passed the role of Wolverine and of being apart of X-Men to him being a father and trying to get set his past behind him and is trying to move on to better things. What really sold the movie to me was the ending, as Logan got the last look of his daughter before he passed and he sees how in just a few weeks of knowing her that he couldn't have asked for anything better than to have her by his side. In some way, this movie to me was one of the best-made movies in a while, even though the base of the movie was in 2029.
I think he should come back for one more movie since Logan did so well, even if it’s him in the Avengers or even another X-Men movie. In other words, Hugh Jackman absolutely killed it, especially considering that he went out with a great last effort to make himself known as The Wolverine.
As Wolverine would say, “It was fun while it lasted, bub.”
