Do Fans Put Too Much Pressure on Their Favorite Professional Athlete?

Heroes. Role Models. Inspiration. These are some ways sports fans think about their favorite athletes. Sometimes athletes might feel too much pressure because they're famous and on TV. With all these cameras in their faces, it must be overwhelming at times.

It's childish to be cruel to them just because they're famous. Just because they average 30 points per game and don't play well like the last game doesn't mean the fans should be mean to them. Not everyone is always going to win and do good every single time.

Fans can be really supportive, but sometimes they can be a little crazy, too. Fans don't know what's going on in an athlete's life out of their sport. But a little bit of pressure isn't bad because it makes the athlete want to do well, so they don't disappoint their fans or teammates so it makes the athletes work harder at practice so they can have the best performance when it's game day, with being a professional athletic comes pressure.

When asked about his favorite athletes, sophomore John Lamp said, Cristiano Ronaldo professional soccer player. I did research Cristiano gets lots of hate as well just like these other athletes it doesn't matter what sport you play you can get hate.

David Akers, kicker for San Francisco 49ers, has received threats after not playing well. Even Mark Sanchez QB for the New York Jets receives threat as well. This is a serious issue: there's no need to threaten players because they didn't play well.

We can change this as fans we can take actions. Lots of people are way too into their favorite sports team. When they don't win or do well, they freak out on the players when it doesn't go their way. Fans should calm down and realize, at the end of the day, it's just games.
